Barbie Beach/summertime Cake For A 3 Year Old?

OK, so my niece's bday is July 4th. I offered to make the cake and her mom (BIL's wife) said she's going to do cupcakes for everyone else, but that I could make a small cake just for K (my neice). She said she was thinking about getting her a certain Barbie that has a bikini on or something and asked if I could work something around that. Any ideas on what to do with this, without making a HUGE cake? She said she wants it just for K.

Oh, I should clarify...SIL would like to have the doll incorporated into the cake (in it, on it, or near it)...they would work together! icon_smile.gif

I just did a luau cake this weeknd....it had "sand" & a "water" , seashels, footprints in the sand..LOL..tree....maybe you can some sort of idea from looking at it. It's in my photos.

I used that Barbie for one of my dayghters cakes. I did a large square cake and made it into a pool and had Barbie sitting on a float in the pool. Maybe you could just make the cake into a float and having her sit on it.

I just talked to my SIL again and told her if I'm going to do a cake I may as well do a big one....unless she really wanted to do the cupcakes herself. She said she didn't, really, she just didn't want to put it all on me. I said I'd do it! icon_biggrin.gif So, anyone have any other ideas (big or small) that could incorporate a beach Barbie? (I'm searching the galleries right now!)
