I am making a Bratz cake for my neice's birthday. I want to incorporate the invitation design. It's got a dark pink/light pink Zebra stripe design as the background. I would like to do this on the side of the cake. What would be the easiest way to do this? I don't use a crusting buttercream so piping it on and smoothing using the Viva method isn't going to work. Was thinking of maybe doing a FBCT and wrapping it around the side of the cake. How realistic is that?

How about a light pink buttercream smoothed on the sides with cut out dark pink fondant stripes over it.

FBCT was my first thought;

My second, is printed icing sheets. You could have the design printed onto the icing sheets, then apply them to the freshly iced cake sides.

I just did a safari cake for my daughters birthday. It is in my whimsical cake gallery on my website.
I did the stripes in fondant and iced the cake in SMBC.

Here are two I did. One is with bc and the other is with fondant.
Good luck!
