I have only used real butter for the last 3 years...since I started doing cakes.
I am not familiar with how long it can sit out at room temperature.

I have some that has been sitting out for a few days. I was going to make some cookies and icing with it but haven't had a chance to get to it yet. Is the butter still good?
I know that I have seen people leave it out on a butter dish, but I don't know for how long.

Please help if you know!

Thanks!
Brandi

Your butter will be fine!

I'm one of those people that keeps a butter dish sitting out on the counter (except if its a hot summer - then it just melts!) and its usually out for about a week, before it's all eaten.

ditto. I don't think I have ever tossed butter for being bad... just too many crumbs from sloppy people buttering their toast icon_smile.gif
