I have a bride that is getting married the 5th of August. She is using giant daisies in bright buttercream yellow, orange, and fuscia. She has asked if I can tint the white cake batter fuscia. How do you do this and what colors would you use to get fuscia. She said if fuscia was too hard, then I could just do orange.

Any help with suggestions and directions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have recently tinted cake batter red for a Canada Day Flag cake and it turned out great! Customer loved it and it didn't change the taste of the cake (tried the pieces from trimming).

Is there not a hot pink or fuschia colouring out there? I used the Super Red colour from this site, but there must be the right colour out there for you!!!

Good luck - sounds like a fun project!

I once tried coloring pink to mauve, but I ended w/ Fuscia.
I used bright pink w/c Rose color (Wilton coloring gel). I colored it really bright pink, almost like hot pink, then I added a little bit of blue..
try it, that might be the color you want.. icon_smile.gif

I've definitly seen fuscia colored food coloring. Except you will not find it in the supermarket...It must be in the cake specialty stores...or go onto www.wilton.com.

good luck!

Thank you to everyone that responded. I will check out some sites to find a fuscia color. Do I need to make a darking batter to begin with or will it hold the color while baking? Does that make sense?

http://shop.cakecentral.com/americolor-soft-paste-p-963.html

There is some Americolor Fushia in stock right now at cake central!

I have tinted White cake batter red and blue before and I thouht it held it's color well. It didn't take a lot of color either. I would suggest making a test cake first so you know what to expect with the wedding cake. Then you'll have some time to tweek it if necessary. Just remember to keep notes of what you're doing, so when it turns out you know what you did right!

I love tinting cake batter - ive found with darker colors you just need to add more and make it a bit daker than you intend because it tends to lighten a bit. Fuscia is definately attainable though
