I just started working with fondant (mmf) anyway I have the roll and cut mat, I like the circles on it for measurement, but I find it hard to keep down on the counter. I finally used some sticky mounting squares and it worked pretty good. I was looking maybe for a better alternative though. I thought I had read someone used vinyl (sp)? (I cant find that thread now) Would this leave a textured appearance? What else could be used?

I've used a silpat to roll out fondant. Also i've heard of people using those big quilter's boards to roll out on.

I bought a large piece of the heavy duty vinyl from the fabric store. I lay the roll n cut mat down on the counter and then put the vinyl on top. The vinyl holds the mat in place and the fondant doesn't stick to the vinyl! Works for me!! icon_smile.gif
