For some reason yesterday I bought an oven thermometer. As soon as I got home from the store I put it in my oven. Later I preheated my oven to 400. When the light indicator went off I proceeded to put our dinner in the oven and the thermometer read 300 icon_eek.gif. No wonder my 12 x 18 cakes take 1 1/2 hours to bake icon_cry.gif

Friday I had 13 cakes to bake. I started at 7 am and finished at 7 pm icon_eek.gif.

I think it's time for a Jen Air Convection oven. If only my budget felt the same way icon_rolleyes.gifthumbs_up.gif

The moral of this thread is ~ CHECK YOUR OVEN TEMPS thumbs_up.gif

Don't I know....I have a Theremeter in my oven since the day I moved into my new house and I am glad I did b/c my therestats has gone out 2 times and it is going out again....I set the oven on 350 and when it preheated this last time it was up to 400.....I am hoping the home warranty will purchase me a new one this time!!!! It pays to spend a couple of buxs
