Does Anyone Use Dh Spice Cake Box Mix?

I'd like to try a spice cake but I'd like to doctor it like the WASC cake. I was going to use the same ingredients (flour, sugar etc) minus the sour cream and almond flavorings and add some cinnamon, nutmeg etc. What do you think pumpkin puree added in would do to it? Thanks!

pumpkin puree added to spice cake mix is to die for. I love it. I haven't done much with it beyond the cake mix, pumpkin (15oz), 3 large eggs, 1/3 cup water, and 1/3 cup oil. Very yummy. Let us know how you go with the extender recipe.

Yes, I have used Duncan Hines spice cake. It's good. Box cake is so much easier than scratch!

I love the DH spice cake. I make it using the WASC recipe and don't add a thing. It really doesn't need it. FABULOUS with cinnamon cream cheese icing.
