Hello all. I will be doing my first cake with either satin ice or pettinice. Which do you like and have more request for? I also need to know how much to cover a 1/4 sheet cake in black for one cake. I will be also covering a 14 & 12" round. Thanks for the help Megan

I prefer SatinIce.

Here is a chart from Wilton with fondant amounts for different cake sizes:

Of the two probably Satin Ice, although I love Pettince's chocolate fondant. My personal favorite for fondant would be Fondx.

Thanks ladies! Does anyone know if the black will stain the mouth like buttercream does?

Yes it will, but not as bad as buttercream. Good thing about fondant is people don't usually eat it all and you can put a nice layer of non-staining buttercream underneath it.
