Ok guys here's a little pic of my DH's good intentions....we went on vacation to Jax Fl. and St. Augustine. I am a avid kitchen gadget collector. Love everything..pans, gizmos whatever. We went into a restaurant called Columbia and I seen these Paella pans. I didn't have one and looked carefully at all the sizes. Well I walked out and decided not to get one because of the fact I have NO clue how to make paella (but would LOVE to try) and didn't know of any other uses for the pan. My DH and the rest of my family (mom, Sister and her family and all my kids), plus myself kept walking, until my DH said he would be right back. We thought he had went to the bathroom, but instead the goofy guy had went back and bought all 5 sizes of the pans icon_eek.gif . Now I know his intentions are good but some of these pans are huge.

What I need are some really good recipes I can use with these pans. Please help me lol, so I can at least show him I can use these!

TIA
(and if you all have any similar experiences with your DH please post, I know my DH's intentions were really good, but sometimes I think his common sense just isnt there lol)

It was very sweet and thoughtful of him to go back and buy those for you thumbs_up.gif I can't help with recipe's I dont even know what they are. My DH buys me stuff all the time I have no use for and most of the time I think to myslef Gosh I have been wanting a ??? for a year now and he buys me a new comfortor knowing full and well im attached to my old one. for example but you just have to smile and know that he had the best of intentions. now get him to add on to the house to shelf all your new pans.

My husband has been going to Michael's and getting Wilton things for me. I like alot of their stuff and all but...he always seems to get the things I don't need icon_redface.gif For instance for my birthday last month...he got me the square tier set from Wilton...I would, of course, never say that I don't like what he got for me...but I already have a really nice set of Magic Line square pans, ranging from 4 1/2" to 16" sizes...of all the pan sets, the square or sheet pans are the worst from Wilton. For our Anniversary a couple months ago, he got me all kinds of Wilton stuff, including a wedding cake book that I already have. It's such a nice thought and it did give me something to look through while we were in the car icon_wink.gif

Anyway, it's the thought that counts, right? icon_biggrin.gif

btw, I don't see the pics of these pans...I have no idea what paella pans look like

My dh regularly buys me things that are just a bit "off"--his intentions are good, but he really doesn't quite get it sometime. Like your dh, if I look at something, he will not just get me one of whatever it is, he will get me an assortment, when one is really all I can use. When we were first dating, I thought it was cute. Now, I hate to admit it, but sometimes I just get irritated that I'll have to find room for the duplicates or take the time to return some.

I am sorry, I didn't mean a picture of the pans but just that of my DH good intentions. These pans are about 2 inches deep and run anywhere from like 5 inches to 20 inches around. Thanks for the replies, I am glad that he has good intentions, but like others have said, I have wanted other things, that i CONSTANTLY look at but when I just glance at things...he goes all out lol. Oh well...

You are right heather and thanks redpanda for the links!

man logic (and don't I know)

if one is good -- more is better

if it comes in multiple sizes -- well, duh, of course you need one in every size

My DH does stuff like this. For Christmas I told him I wanted a new set of pots for the kitchen. He would'nt buy them b/c he said if he did i'd get mad. UHHH i ASKED for them. My mom got them for me instead. Last Valentine's day he bought me a watch, which was nice, but ive already got 2 that i never wear.( and he gave it to me a day late lol) He does pay attention every once in a while though. He knew I wanted a new digital camera and picture printer, and totally suprised me with it. He and my 5 yr old dd bouth it and put it on my bed, and when i got home my dd hands me a photo album. I asked her why would you buy me this, and it dawned on me. it was so sweet.
