do you want a book about baking or one about decorating?

if baking, i like the cake bible. it has eeeeeeeeeeverything. although, it's a little overwhelming.

if decorating, any of the wilton books will teach you basic techniques

Hi Trent,

I purchased "Pretty Party Cakes" by Peggy Porschen, and I really like it. But I looked at your cakes and you might find it more basic. I used it for inspiration for my last cake. I haven't tried the recipes in it yet but am hoping to try at least one next week. I am looking forward to other responses you get too though. I often go to the local library and sign out books, they have quite a selection at our local library, you could try that?

Have you tried your local library? I was surprised to find what all mine carried.
