So, I am an admitted cake copy cat. I prefer to mimic a beautiful cak that is already created then dream up one of my own (thank goodness not many people know about this site icon_smile.gif ). I have to make a cake for my son't preschool graduation this friday for about 80.
The dilema: I hope to get some orders out of the party, you know, lots of parents with little kids, so I want it to be a nice cake, but, I don't want to go over the top. In addition, the party is at a park and the forcast calls for hot and humid so I am not sure if I want to deal with lots of layers.
I know there is someone out there that will have an idea for me. Please help.

Not too sure about the heat, but what about a teddy bear's picnic where the teddy bears wear graduation outfits?

Otherwise, here's a bump.

I like the idea of little graduation caps on something, teddybears would be cute. Can't decide if I should do a big old sheet cake, I dreamt about this one and still have no ideas....

I like the sheet cake idea with a graduation cap on it and the childrens name on the cake. On top of the cap can have either the teachers name. Eample "Mrs. St.Clair's Class of 07" or the schools name.

Just my 2 cents.

what about one of the notebook cakes in a sheet cake size and then for the kids do cupcakes. I did the cupcakes once for my preschool class. I used cupcakes that I built up on one edge and then placed a chocolate covered graham cracker (the big ones) on top. Some twizzeler string pieces for the tassle stuck on with buttercream. The kids did better with the cupcakes (they could carry and go) and the parents thought they were adorable.

I just did some minicupcakes for a preschool graduation (I think the picture is in my photos). The tops are choc covered graham cracker squares, the mini cupcakes are upside down and covered in choc and the tassels are fondant - thanks to my handy dandy Pampered Chef garlic press.
