I am needed to make a hand mirror and brush and comb set.

Does anyone have any idea how to make the mirror part, so that it will look real.Someone here recommended Reynolds wrap, but I wasn't real crazy with that idea.

Any others from you guys?

I've never tried it, how does it work, if I can find it.

The only place close to me is a wal-mart, and they don't have much of anything. Everywhere else is like 70 miles away. And it is probably to late to order any.

Is there anyway to make something like it?

too late to order depends on when cake is needed. WalMart won't have luster dust. A good cake shop will have it in stock (call ahead to confirm)

easy to use, just mix w/ lemon extract or vodka and paint it on.

If you can't mail order or drive to get some luster dust, then at this point I'm back to the original suggestion of a piece of aluminum foil.

How about silver shimmer dust or cark sparkles in clear or silver?

I'd make the mirror out of gumpaste - while you are making it, press a small disk (tht you remove - you're just making an impression) into the center to make a very slight "well" that will eventually be yr mirror surface.

Once the gumpaste is dray and set, fill in the "well" with very very thin royal icing tinted grey (thin so it all runs together - the "well" will stop it from flowing out. let it dry. once dry, paint with silver luster dust mixed with vodka.
