Hi all,

I'm looking to make my first graduation cap & diploma. I couldn't find a template or instructions. Whis is better to use fondant or gumpaste? I'm familiar with fondant but have never used gumpaste but am willing to learn. Can someone point me in the right direction??

thanks
Mar

I have done a graduation cap and diploma before -- I just used MMF and let it dry for a couple of days. Gumpaste will roll thinner and dry faster, other than that it is a lot like working with fondant. Here is the link to my picture:

I suggest gumpaste. I was intimidated by it, as a novice, but I picked up the canister that you mix with water, gave it a whirl, and I LOVE it!!!! I just mixed gumpaste with MMF about 50/50 and it dries so nice and it is worry free. Go for it, it is always nice to have a new trick up your sleeve!
