For a few days, I've been thinking "Life's hard, I need a cake". So I'm wondering, What is your favorite "pick me up" cake? I'm taking flavors and decorations.
Mine are probably chocalate cake with cocoa icing and mokas (my great-grandma made some kind of yellow cake with coffee icing and grilled coconut). As for decorations, bright flowers of the whimsical kind always seem to lift up my spirits.
What are yours?
Actually, although I enjoy making cakes...my favorite cake to eat is one that somebody else made...LOL... and one of those would be a sponge cake roll with strawberry cream cheese/marshmallow fluff/fresh strawberry filling. Really yummy!
Also I like ice cream cakes.
My fav pick me up I can only get when visiting Quebec. We go to Montreal about once and year and try to hit Quebec City twice. It's called sugar pie...for those who don't know... it is basically pecan pie without the pecans and is soooo sweet you HAVE to eat it with ice cream! Good Lord do I love that stuff!!
Oh- I'm in the group of "one someone else made"!!!! I do love to make cakes but it's nice to go somewhere and eat cake that someone else slaved over!! And I like any cake but chocolate cake with buttercream icing is my favorite!! Not filling just all buttercream!! YUMMY!!!
