I have an order for 30 cupcakes going to a school. How do i pack them up? Do they sell boxes w/holes to hold them? Anywhere locally?
I need this for next Thursday. it seems like the one that wilton sells at michaels is not worth it. What is it like 4 cupcakes per box?! augh.

thanks!

I ordered boxes and cupcake inserts from http://www.brpboxshop.com/index.html

You have to order in lots of 100. Lids, boxes and inserts are all separate.
It cost me around $120.00 ( I think) but I can also use the boxes for sheet cakes.

In a pinch, I have used a regular cardboard box with a piecs of styrafoam at the bottom, and inserted toothpicks to hold the cupcakes in place.

I have also read here that you can use a regular box and pipe a dot of icing and stick the cupcakes on top to hold them.

I recently ordered these light weight plastic cupcake holders from KitchenKrafts.com.

http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product.asp?pn=PP1014

They were $4.95 for 4 trays that hold a dozen each. It says to put them in a 10x14 box, but I was able to overlap the rims of the tray and put 2 trays in a 10x19 box. Used them this weekend and they worked great! Since they inexpensive I figured that I can re-use them as much as possible and then toss them.

I forgot to mention that they're shipping was reasonable and very quick!!

If I just need to haul 1 or 2 dozen, I've gone to the local grocery store and bought their plastic cupcake holders. Wal-Mart won't sell any to me, but our local grocery store did for about 50 cents each. Other days they've sold them for a dollar each--go figure. When I have to transport several dozen, I just use a regular cake box, but a cardboard in the bottom and put the cupcakes in snugly. They transport easily that way and don't shift much even though I have to travel on some of the roughest dirt roads in America!!!!

I have made and transported 1000's of cupcakes. I have spent zero on the holders. Here is how I do it. You know the cardboard coffee cup trays? Well these hold 4 cupcakes. Just push back the cardboard and they hold cupcakes beautifully. They will not tip or touch each other. Just ask friends to start saving them and you will have hundreds in no time. You will need to buy a couple of plastic containers to place these in but once ou deliver the cupcakes the cardboard holders can stay with the client. These will hold regular and jumbo cupcakes.
For mini's I use a the tray that a flat of eggs comes in. Hope this helps.
