I have a request for a red fondant covered WASC cake for June 30th.

In your honest opinions, should I make the MMF and color it red (I think this will take a WHOLE LOT of red coloring) or order the 2 lb red/vanilla satin ice?

This is for a charecter cake for a family member.

i used the super red coloring from country kitchen to color some Wilton fondant(only used wilton because i knew they werent gunna eat the bow) and the red came out really redand bright but if they are gunna eat the fondant then i would order the satin ice or the white choc/red fondant from cal java online is very yummy

Satin Ice, the only way to go in my opinion.

Where do you order your Satin ice from? I had contacted the company and they said they would only sell me it 25 pounds at a time. And I don't make nearly that many cakes.

I had the same dilemma about black fondant and ordered it from Into The Oven (SatinIce). Super-fast shipping!

No, you can buy it in 2 1/2 lb. or 5 lb. containers. Try Cake Visions, also called CalJava, or try Global Sugar Arts, Pfeil & Holing.
