Hello everyone!

What do you use to shape and mold fondant? I have read in some posts that you can use fondant molds, but wondered if you can use candy molds.

So, what does everyone use to shape fondant?

Any tips or suggestions you would share with others?

Yes, I've just begun to use molds to shape my fondant. I bought a set of 4 from my local cake supply store. I just grease them lightly with Crisco and roll my fondant thin as usual put over the opeing and pull off the excess. Then I just put finger pressure all over the mold to get the impression good and pull out with the end of my paintbrush or you could use tweezers. I think the secret is not to get it real thick. If you use a deep candy mold you might want to just fill the mold slightly. My bows are made with my new mold on this cake that I finished this weekend. Pam from Bama

I got these molds at my local cake supply store but I seen them on this website. http://www.countrykitchensa.com/whatshot/elegant_molds.aspx. They even have a tutorial on how to use them. I really like them. You will need to lightly crisco them before putting in your MMF or they will stick. I"m sure you could use them with white chocolate too. Pam from Bama
