Hi All,
In the development where I , they are having a end of summer block party in August. There are lots of houses and kids. We moved here a years ago and this will be the first time going. This is a good way of getting my name out there. I told them I would do the cake, cupcakes and cookies. I just wanted to do a theme but I can't think of anything. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you,
Kara
What about burgers made of cupcakes! I think there may be some pics in the gallery. Anything to do with summer would be fun - watermelon cake, large burger cake, or you could do a sheetcake with these types of decorations on them depending on what you are needing and how many you have to feed. With cookies, you can pick lots of really cool shapes - there are all sorts of cutters you can get. Maybe a sunshine would be neat, or any type of summer food item. Even beach type themes like balls, etc would be fun.
There are lots of ways you could go - you could even do a "back to school" theme with school themed items - crayons, rulers, etc.
Thanks so much for idea's. At first I was thinking summer stuff but then I said to myself it is a end of the summer party so then I was thinking school. Maybe I will do a bunch of both. I didn't want the kids to get upset that school is starting soon. I just did a bunch of burger and hot dog on top of cupcakes that came out really cute and were very easy. But maybe I will try the burgers made of cupcakes.
Thanks Again,
Kara
I have really liked the picnic basket cakes on CC. You could fill one with all kinds of things (ie icing flowers; fondant or fresh fruit; towels, flipflops and "summer things".) Your cookies and cupcakes could then echo the theme of whatever you put into the basket. And the cake could be any size ... which is handy!
