I will make a tiered cake: 9inch and 6inch. Fondant covered with a bow and some crosses on the side of the cake. Yellow cake, buttercream filling.
How much should I charge for this? and how much is the bow by itself?
Thanks in advance

I have read on here to charge 3 x your cost for cakes and as far as fondant and bows I'll bump ya as I never can get anyone to try fondant! icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm just starting out and for that I would charge $65.
My break down is $20 for 6in, $30 for a 10in (I don't offer 9 inch) $10 for the fondant and $5 for the bow.
Does that sound right to anyone else?

Thanks for the answers. But I would like to have more comments before I say a final price.
Thanks again.

65 to 85 depending on flavors and filling. Sounds fair to me.

I would say at least $75. Party size servings for those pan sizes equals 36 servings. At $2.00 a serving that would be $72. Sorry I don't have any suggestions for pricing the bow.

A tiered fondant covered cake is $3.00 per serving for me.. a 6 inch is 14 wedding slices and a 9 inch is about 28 (I don't have a 9" pan so it's hard for me to say, but that's right in between an 8 and a 10 inch). that's 42 servings at $3.. $126. add the bow.. another 20$ (depending on size and type of bow) and that's $146.00. I used indydebi's serving chart http://forum.cakecentral.com/modules/Forums/files/cake_serving_guide_219.pdf

Hope this helps.. icon_biggrin.gif

edited for a math error.. icon_biggrin.gif
