My sister wants alternating stripes and dots on her cake (stripes on 1 tier, dots on the next) all done in buttercream. I thought i had seen one in the gallery, but haven't found it in the 400+ pics i searched thru today. icon_cry.gif

Anyone got something i can look at for reference??

Thanks!

Jennifer

I've done a spots and stripes baby shower cake but the spots and stripes were fondant accents not BC.
to do them in BC (easy) you could take a wide basketweave tip and make the stripes that way..they would be interesting too.
For the dots, take various sized round tips and pipe them on to the side..to make them lay flat, take your cornstarch covered finger and gently pat them down...

Hopefully someone who has done one totally in BC will answer...

I don't have a pic of the one I did, but the method described above is a perfect answer to what you're looking for.
