You did a wonderful job on both cakes. I love the bottle cake and will have to give it a try someday for my brother. Plus it sounds like I can buy some new toys to play with. I've never made my own molds.

I did these to save my kids money...( like all good mothers do..we go to the rescue of our kids) plus I do love the oohs and ahhs...of the people that have really never seen top notch cakes...

As I read that statement I made it sounded quite arrogant icon_redface.gif and I actually meant that if these people had seen top notch cakes they would know that mine was NOT top notch but just a schmoe doing cakes for fun... icon_lol.gif

Oh my!!! I have never seen such artwork! That beer bottle cake is absolutely amazing! And the wedding cake was gorgeous!

The biggest reason I'm starting decorating is for my girls (for their birthdays now and then hopefully someday I'll get to make their wedding cakes.......all 6 of them!). I just hope that I will be able to make my girls as happy as I'm sure you made your daughter and new son in law. Your work is amazing!

I agree with everyone else, your cakes are amazing. I love the elegance of the wedding cake, and the groom's cake is outstanding. It is one of those I couldn't dare to cut.

Great job!

Once again...thank you all for such support. That is the prime reason I love this site. YOU all are so encouraging and it lifts my spirits up. We on cake central are all very supportive and a very cohesive group. Thank you a million times over!!! I sure didn't expect to have a landslide of views of my cakes. ( it was due to IndyDeb I think). So thanks for looking and all your words of praise....

My son came yesterday for dinner. He was one of the ushers at my daughters wedding on Sat. So I asked him "What did you think of the Beer Bucket Cake"? He looked at me quizically and said "What"...I repeated myself and also said..."you know...the grooms cake?"....then I said...."did you see the big 5 tier wedding cake?".... He said "NO" I didn't see ANY cakes.....oh DUH!!! So I showed him the pics of the cakes....

My son ...God love him ...can be so dense at times....How could he miss those since he was part of the wedding party AND he knew I was doing the cakes....

Kids...can't do anything with them..... icon_lol.gif

Yes there is cake.....I know that it is a new tradition for weddings and most guys just go for the beer...but they will just have to get use to seeing cakes at weddings along with the beer... icon_lol.gif
