Here is my Rainbow cake that I made for the Wilton 1 class.
The one that says "14 Weeks!" is the practice cake that I made on the weekend before class.

I still need to improve my bc smoothing technique.
For the 2nd cake, my icing was too stiff so I had issues pipng it, but I think it turned out OK considering.

You did a good job. I was thinking about doing that one for my class this last week, but did the one with the 3 flowers on in instead. Good luck with the rest of your class.

Your cakes look great. I did the one with the 3 flowers on it and wasn't happy with it. If I had more icing colors mixed up, I would have done the rainbow. I think I am going to do it tomorrow just so that I can tell myself that "yes, I can do this", lol. Everyones cakes came out so well in class and my cake was the ugly cake, lol. On the way to class, my cake slid over and hit the side of my carrier. Oh well, I know better for next time. icon_rolleyes.gif

You did a fantastic job! Smoothing seems to get easier with each cake which mean lots of yummy practise cakes....

Even though I have finished Course III I am going back and doing the cakes I did not get to while I was in that class. This is one of them...great job!

Vanaya, would you please let me know what colors you used for the blue background on the cake and for the rainbow. I just went back to the Wilton book and it doesn't give colors. I really like the blue on the base of your cake. Thanks thumbs_up.gif

Ok, this inspired me to get my tush in gear and do the cake I didn't get done. Ok, so I start out by icing the cake in blue and while it is crusting I make up the other four colors. Wouldn't you know it, I made blue icing again instead of red for the rainbow. icon_rolleyes.gif Only I could do such a thing. So I have a really wierd looking rainbow cake, but at least I did the piping gel, lol.
