Maybe someone already posted this but since I was away from cc fro the weekend I might have missed it......so........check out this website. There is to be a celebrity cake decorating contest at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville on July 1st this year. Bronwen Webber and other decorators along with country singers and a movie star will be competing in teams....I might have to check this out...

this looks and sounds like fun... do you live near this? What is the venue like? I didn't look at the site too long, does it provide hotel information and stuff? I might have to do this, take a road trip with my mom or my sis in law 
I'm a little over a hundred miles from Nashville and I'm THINKIN'.......I probably NEED to be at this event! LOL
The Opryland Hotel is a lovely resort type hotel with wonderful eateries and shopping. It IS, however, kinda pricey! But, there are lots of hotels/motels on that side of town that are well within reason and are nice places.
Oh my goodness! The National Pastry Championship as well? I HAVE to visit my friend's that live in Nashville to see this event!

it is a 3 day event the celebrity competition is on the 1st then the rest of the competition is on the 2nd and 3rd
I actually got this link from a post from those cookie/cake video things. The Opryland Hotel is amazing. I went there for an ICES National convention quite a few years ago. I went into the hotel on a Thursday and didn't come out until Monday....The place is freaking huge and great but pricey restaurants. I think this is a one day thing though. I now live about 5 hours away. I use to live in Louisville but moved bacl to the frozen state of Indiana... 
OK. AmandaPanda and I are trying to see who is going to Nashville for Sunday's competition. Please P.M. to let us know. We are trying to arrange to get together and to at least sit together at the event.

I would give anything to go to this!!! And my sister lives 2 hrs. away, but my son's all star baseball tourn. is this weekend! Oh I hope they put this on TV!!!

wow my mom lives like 15 minutes from the hotel and never mentioned this and i never heard a thing about it or i would be there..dang...guess i better keep a better eye on the forums..i could kick my butt if i could get my foot up that high..lol.
anyone fortunate to go enjoy and bring pics..love that hotel..totally gorgeous...been there a few years back to visit and would love to see what i missed the first time around...oh so jealous...lalala.
