Brush Embroidery On Smoothed Buttercream?

Is this possible? I love the brushed embroidery look, and it works great on fondant, but dh hates fondant. I'd like to impress him with something artistic with a frosting he will like.

Yeah...I believe that I have seen it done on BC. Just be sure to use a crusting BC and also chilling that cake may help as well.

Yes you can do it on BC. I just iced my cake and did it, I didnt do anything other then that and it turned out fine. I dont think chilling or letting it crust over matters since you have to use a damp brush to do it.

i think it should work fine. maybe just be sure to have a nice soft bristle brush, as a hard one may push into the cake a little tooooo much.
