I have made lots of Daisy's from gum paste. Now I want to put a finish on them to look like porcelain. These are for my granddaughters wedding cake. I have heard that by mixing meringue powder and water gives things a shine, is that how I do it or is there some other way to get this look? I hope you can help.

I'm really anxious to hear the answer to this too...There are so many techniques I still don't know and I think it looks really pretty when this is done but I have not learned how...thanks for asking the question!!

There is an edible glaze (confectioners' glaze) that you can use to achieve this effect.

www.ladycakes.com

There is a good selection of recipes for glazes at this site. Including Toba Garrett's recipe.
