I've been eyeing this at Walmart. "Fat loss for women." Contains hormone and mood stabilizers along with the normal weight stuff. I finally bought some, and DF's sis wants to know if it works, and with the calorie-free cakes not available yet, I was hoping others here would know?

I have not tried it but I saw a comercial for it last night. It sounds interesting but I am always skeptical about weight loss pillls. I would be interested to know if anyone has tried it as well.

I had asked this about 2 months ago... and no one else said they had.... wish I could help you.... I had bought it, but was really unsure about using it, so I threw it out...... however I am still looking for something to help.

Here goes -

DAY 1: Jumped straight in with the 2 pills twice daily (as opposed to doing 1 pill twice daily for the first week). Basically, skipped the "intro." WOW there's a lot of caffeine in this!

DAY 2: Is that scale right? Nah, couldn't have lost 2 lbs yet. Still jittery from the caffeine. Drinking LOTS of water, from the dry-mouth. Heck, this is a healthy side-effect. Fiance stopped looking at me like I was psycho (thanks to the mood enhancers!)

DAY 3 (today): Did I mention the caffeine? Can't sit still. Best part is that my "snug" jeans can be pulled off without unbuttoning! Coffee and Diet Coke have been almost eliminated from my diet. Can't sit still. Did I mention the CAFFEINE?????

Lost 5 pounds so far, haven't updated signature tho. Jittery, but PMS is under control! Little to no appetite, but still eating meals, just smaller portions. Drinking lots of water, which is great. It's like this thing has stuff in it to MAKE YOU live healthier, which is good since I have no willpower. Ya know that little hyper squirrel on Over The Hedge? Yep, that's me. Losing weight, drinking water, eating smaller portions, not craving sugar, keeping motivated. WOW! Did I mention the caffeine????????????????????

I had the opposite experience with it then Zmama. I guess a lot of that has to do with I live to eat rather than eat to live. I really believe I need to adjust my thinking. icon_lol.gif LOL. Oh well, I am happy as I am - I eat bad, work out, eat bad, go to bed. My DH loves me the way I am so why shouldn't I?? thumbs_up.gif

Things are still going good with the SlimQuick. I have already gone from a sz 10 to 8. My fiance's sis started taking it yesterday, so we will have another success guage soon. It's not the weight, but the getting ready for baby part that we are going for.

It is so much easier to start a pregnancy lighter, and healthier. I was at my healthiest (after basic military training) in a size 4 and 130 lbs. I still have the muscle from then, but it has padding now that I want to lose. Honestly, fiance likes a little fluff, and I think a woman is more beautiful when she's not "cut" but personally I want to get around 15-20% bodyfat by the wedding, when we will start trying to get pregnant. Just working out wasn't doing it for me, but this is.

OK Zmama
Are you also working out? What do you eat? I started it today and have noticed an increase in, not so much energy, but energy. (does this make sense?) I am going to the bathroom often because of all of the water I am drinking, just on the first day. I had been taking Acceliss and working out, with no results. I hope this works to give me a jump start!

I don't do the whole "working out," but I do try to stay active. We go fishing, for walks, etc, but I only exercise for its own sake if it's a rainy day and I can't get outside. Are you taking 1 or 2 pills at a time?

I took 3 days off during my monthly, and didn't lose, but didn't gain it back either, even with eating chocolate and sleeping the whole time.

I did the 2 right away like you did. I am working out also, at the moment 20 minutes on the treadmill. I used to walk 1 hour on the tread at a speed of 6.5 and at an angle, that was when I was 70 pounds lighter! I hope to loose at least 50 - 60, I think I can maintian this weight without having to kill myself everyday for the rest of my life to stay there. I just have to kill myself to get there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't kill yourself to get there.. it will happen easier if you take it easy. Change one thing at a time, accomplish that till it's easy, then add another. The weight will stay off longer that way, because you are living healthier. "Killing" yourself doing this is more likely to kill the diet and motivation, so take it easy! It is supposed to be no more than 2 lbs/week on average for weight loss. That's 100 lbs/year! Quick enough for ya?

I guess your right. If I just relax, watch what I eat and make sure I workout some, it will eventually come off. Wanting the weight loss instant gratification will never happen huh? LOL

Just an update. Things are going good with the SlimQuick. My SIL and I are both making progress. Side effects died down, so I don't feel crazed from all the caffeine. It prolly affected me so much because I have a low caffeine intake normally. SIL didn't have the same extreme effects from it, but she is a coffee-a-holic. We both seem to average a pound every day or two, and the mood stabilizers really helped us with PMS - the men and all the kids are alive and still speaking to us.

Karate and others who want fast results, don't give up. Slow results really are healthier, and easier to maintain. We all hit plateaus and have weight fluctuations which are depressing, but none of us are alone. HUGS!

well after being on it a week, I have lost 2 pounds. so it is still slow going, but at least some progress I'm happy with any progress. Makes all of my work outs worth it.

Please remember super fast weight loss, while nice, is not always healthy for you. Add to that often if you drop weight super fast you can gain it back just as fast.

Is this pill something that you have to keep taking from now on? How healthy will that be for your body? If it isn't, when you stop taking them will the weight stay off or will you gain it all back?

Good point TexasSugar!! I don't like to rain on your parade but I once lost a lot of weight using a supplement and gained it back even while still on it. It can be useful if it helps you to start a lifelong change in eating and exercising habits. Otherwise, it can have a serious rebound effect - not just gaining back weight lost, but gaining even more. Also, the effect of quitting caffeine can be extreme headaches and sluggishness.

Zmama, I know you are on it to try and get in shape for pregnancy. Just keep in mind that once pregnant you can no longer take this stuff and that you have to actually quit a while before - congratulations by the way on making such a wonderful decision - babies are GREAT!!!!!

Karate - maybe the weight loss has more to do with the workouts catching up on you??? thumbs_up.gif

I don't mean to sound "preachy" but I have struggled for the last 10 years with 20 pounds and the only thing that really worked was regular exercise (which I still do) and maintaining a balanced diet (which I am horrible at). icon_lol.gif But good luck to anyone who wants to live a healthier lifestyle. I hope you reach your goals!!

After reading your posts, I decided to try it. I had never tried a supplement before. Big mistake. After two days on, I started having chest pains. I stopped taking it and after three more days most of the pains are subsiding. (before this, I have had no medical issues, other then weight)
I am going on that new diet, you know the one, eat less, exercise, I know, it is a fad, it will never take off!! icon_lol.gif

zmama, congrats on loosing the weight, but be very careful. Products such as this are NOT FDA approved and usually come with a cost in your own health down the road. I was in the marines, personal trainer, aerobics instructor and assistant track coach. I've seen many people be fine on a product only to see it backfire years later. If you still want to get your body fat % down 15-20% is wayyyyyy too low! Personal trainers who are women usually have between 17-21% and that's working out hard 2 times a day 6 days a week. Also, usually their periods stop completely. This makes it hard to get pregnant! Try shooting for 23% instead. You will be in better health and your period more than likely will still be around so you will have a much higher chance of getting pregnant.

If you want to get pregnant soon start taking folic acid, it really does help!

sorry, I don't mean to scare you at all, I just don't want to hear that you were hurt. Once again congrats on the 5 lbs. lost

Thank you for your advise. My weight loss has slowed, even started to gain a bit when I became more active. Not worried by this, as my jeans still fit loser. I believe you are right that my goal was too low. After doing the calculations, I would have to lose 50-55 lbs to get to 17% - that's 100 lbs! I couldn't ever be that small. Should have thought that out sooner. I'm at 27% now, and will be at 25% when I hit my goal of 150 lbs. By that time, it will be a little cooler here, and I will try jogging instead of walking.

Oh, and I do get at least 400mg folic acid per day, from the SQ actually. We need 800mg for pregnancy, if I remember correctly. Thanks for the reminder, I do need to start with that now!
