My MMF looks like it had a bad case of acne or chicken pox! icon_mad.gif Why is this? I've never seen it do this before. I'm assuming it's air bubbles, but I couldn't get rid of them to save my life. I thought I had it all smoothed out, then when I flipped the vinyl over & put it on the cake, I saw a few. It was not bad, so I smoothed it out & trimmed, etc. & went to bed. (About midnight) When I got up this morning, - pock marks, all over! I've worked & worked, but nothing got rid of them, I covered what I could, but the shower is now an hour away.

So, what caused this? How do I make sure it doesn't happen again? icon_cry.gif

I think you mean all the little air bubbles that pop up when you roll out the fondant and then the pop leaving the pock marks, right? I don't have that propblem so much any more and I think it's because I switched to a huge rolling pin maybe. or maybe I just got lucky. icon_smile.gif or maybe because I switched to Rhonda's untilmate marshmallow fondant. That's all I can think of.

Thanks, jsmith! I'm going to try a different recipe next time, although I'd never had problems with this one before now.

If after I roll it out, and the MMF has the bubbles, or the holes, I knead in a little more shortening. Then roll out the MMF again, and it will be smooth.
This has worked like a charm for me anytime I've needed to fix the MMF.
