I always add vanilla to my cake mix and sift it ( i think it makes a difference) but do you have any suggestions on what to add to a boxed white cake mix to give it a zing make people think its from scratch?

The cake extender recipe on this site makes people think its from scratch. Usually though i'll just add a small package of instant pudding and an extra egg and that works to. A little yogurt or sour cream is sometimes jsut added if i have it and it helps get rid of some of that sickening sweet and fake flavor. icon_smile.gif

I've been doing the same as the pp, I just add a packet of pudding and an extra egg to each pan of batter, it makes the cake denser and moister!
