Okay so me and my boyfriend are throwing a barbeque this weekend of course I want to make something fun (I want his family to LOVE me) So I was thinking about doing those fun cupcakes in the ice cream cones but I also wanted to do something that my boyfriend can eat (he does not like cake or icing icon_cry.gif ) so I was thinking of making rice crispy treats and molding them in to the mini ball pan then pouring melted chocolate over it and them putting it on the cone does that sound like a good idea any tips or suggestions icon_confused.gificon_confused.gificon_confused.gif

I would probably have to get a new boyfriend if he didn't like cake and icing. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

The Rice Krispies idea sounds good. You could make some cones with cake and some with the Rice Krispies. You can color the RK different colors for something different. Even use the cones for hats and decorate the balls as faces with candies.

Just a few ideas.............

have you done the cone cakes before? I did them and i find that the cone cups taste stale. I know some people have had luck when them but if you let it sit too long it tastes stale. As soon as you take it out the oven its fine but later on. How about doing the cupcake cake? that looks fun, i havent done it yet but i would love to try it soon.

Your bf doesnt like cake???? Your idea for him sounds good!

as what Dr. Laura Schlessinger might say,
"are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with him in the future"? LOL icon_lol.gif

seriously, if it was me, I would make what most people like, and make a couple for him (whatever it is he likes).. to me, Majority wins. that's just me. icon_smile.gif

I like your idea for the Rice Krispie treats - my DH isn't much of a cake eater either. Of course, he also doesn't care for RK treats. What's wrong with this man??? No accounting for taste I guess. I think I just slammed myself. icon_redface.gif

I thought maybe it was just me. I made the cupcakes in the cones once and my grandkids hated them. They did taste stale. I thought maybe it was the brand of cones that I used.

If I was really wanting to impress these people I would do a cute cake and tell the boyfriend to get over it!!!! Just kidding--make a cake and then make him some sort of dessert.

I dont know how to make a cupcake cake!! Help Could i make the cupcakes like normal then put them in??? Would that be better???

its a long story about why he hates cake but ill make it short he had a very abusive icon_mad.gif step dad and the step dad made a cake for my bfs mom, my bfs little sister keep putting her finger in the cake blamed my bf and the step dad beat the shit out of him made him eat the WHOLE cake (that had icing on it) and when he threw up made him eat his own throw up icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif !!! So i dont blame him to much poor guy was a sport when we first got together he was embarrassed to tell me the story so i made him a cake he ate it with out complaint but i can never in good concise make him eat another cake!!

Can relate to that story. My brother told me the story of my dad's girlfriend (long before I was born) making him eat sweet potatoes until he threw up and then made him eat the throw up. We don't even mention sweet potatoes in his presence. Some people are so viciously mean. My dad was just as mean. Thank God I had a wonderful mother.

Have never made a cupcake cake but have seen pictures on here of them. Probably you could find the instructions on here also.

How about an ice cream cake? Or a big beautiful stack of brownies drizzled with chocolate? Or a pie? Ohmigosh, now I'm thinking of chocolate peanut butter pie... got to go make something. Good luck, and let us know how everything goes!

eating your own vomit is the most disgusting thing .. How can a mother or any parent even watch this whole thing happen.. it's like watching your own child being raped, and condoning it.. That's really sad icon_sad.gif .. I can't and won't even lift a finger to hurt my son.

I know but he still loves his mom! I think that all the time how could you let someone do this to him i dont care how deep you are into drugs watching your kid eat his own vomit and letting him get beat night after night he sleeps with his eye open and if you so much as walk in the room when he is asleep he freaks out!! but what really gets me is what kind of parent kicks there kid out of the house at 8 years old and not for like a min but for months??? And yes it is her i am trying to impress (no the step dad has been out of the picture for a long time) and i cant stand her it takes everything i have to look at her!!

As for the rice krispies, I understand! My BF doesn't care for a lot of cake and I have made rice kripies actually decorated like a cake before (check out the present with a yellow bow in my pictures (it is all rice krispies) You could also do a cookie or brownie decorated icon_smile.gif
