I was brainstorming ways to make it easy to have nice, even sides for a topsy-turvy cake and I thought, "Why not a flower pot?"

Has anyone tried it? Here is one link I found:

I've not tried it but I did read a post not long ago where someone did this by using a brand new flower pot and lining it with foil, then cake release that and bake as normal. Hope that helps some! icon_biggrin.gif

I've done it once, when my son was successful with potty training. My mom got me a kit (most likely from HomeGoods or Marshalls) that had a terra cotta flowerpot (about 4" tall), cake mix and sprinkles.
It came out looking like a huge cupcake.
Hope this helps!

Just curious...

Do you have to treat the flowerpot first before greasing and flouring it? Other than washing it I mean. icon_razz.gif

Well, it must be do-able! I think I will do a test cake and use a heating core with a larger pot. It sure would make it easier to skip a lot of the carving for topsy-turvy designs!
