I did this and the other on the same day just had some problems with the bow and it got finished today. I'm still not happy with the bow but i guess for my 1st time its ok. Its still not completely dry so thats why its not totally rounded but i couldnt wait to get it done. 1st time working with mmf, i learned a few things. Its not that hard once the mmf is not crumbling. Thanks for all the help gals. Please tell me what i can do to improve.

You did a great job!! I have only done one fondant bow and I stuffed it with tissue until it dried to help it hold its shape. Hope that helps!!! Keep up the good work!!

It looks great. I have only done one bow cake as well. I made the loops and let them dry on their side, then assembled.

You did a great job!

I am very envious of those of you who are brave enough to do fondant. I'm working on psyching myeself up to it, but have failed to do so. Great job!

Excellent job with the bow! I've only worked with the Wilton's fondant and have not worked up the courage to make and try the MMF. I think I'm ready to go for it. You made it look and sound simple. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.

I wasn't brave enough to try fondant until I took the Wilton 3 course. It was fun and I learned alot. I love your bow - it looks great and the color is very vibrant.

Fondant is not difficult...is it a lot easier that trying to smooth icing on a cake w/c can take a lot longer.
Just imagine that you are playing with Play Dough and pretending to cover a cake. With fondant after to lay the fondant on the cake, all you need to do is do a little fitting and smoothing. No spatulas or dealing with messy & sticky icing. That's why I only do fondant. I love the stuff. icon_biggrin.gificon_smile.gif

that's just me. icon_smile.gif

Thank you very much,

I usually use textured rolling pins more than mat impressions.
I find the rolling pin very handy and they come in a lot more designs.. icon_smile.gif

Me Too, Prettycake! I only like to do fondant cakes! I think it's because I'm a crafty person to begin with...and working with fondant allows me to be craftyier if you know what I mean? WhenI ise with buttercream, I am always feeling a little tense...but when I do fondant, I feel more at ease, and feel I can creat more! Just my personal preferrance I guess! I have to do a buttercream cake tomorrow for an order for someone, and I actually don't look forward tomaking them!...lol...but of course, I'll do it for the $. icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you all for the nice comments. Working with the mmf is not hard at all you will get used to it in less than 1/2 hour. If you havent tried it, do it. Its not that expensive and if it doesnt come out the way you want at least you will learn a few things. Its not a big risk. Go for it!!.

BakeQueen definately let me know how it turns out. Goodluck.
