I just read your original post and see that you did say "birthday" cake; I don't know how I started thinking you said "wedding".

Well, anyhow, good luck with the surgery and the baby. If you think of it; when you're home with the baby, come back to this post and tell us what you had and all the details.

That is a selfish request! I am so surprised that anyone would even consider asking that! As for the c-section, I had one 9 months ago and LOVED it! I could have done pretty much anything 4 days later, well....except for the sleep deprevation icon_rolleyes.gif

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I had a c-section with my daughter. (she'll be 1 yr next month) The night before the surgery they told me to take it easy, get lots of rest, and stay away from stressful situations. If you ask me, the thought of going into the hospital for surgery and coming home with a new baby was stressful enough! And since today is Thursday, Happy Birthday Little One!!! I hope all went well, and congratulations on your new blessing.

YEA! Welcome little Baby!

I cannot believe you came home 2 days after! I had to stay 5 days with my last one, and I didn't think that was near enough. Of course, I had 3 more waiting for me! icon_smile.gif You rest up and take it easy. So happy for you guys!

Congratulations! Don't they push you out of the hospital fast after surgery! It's the insurance companies calling the shots! I had two c-sections in the mid 1980s and stayed 5 days in the hospital. I felt I needed it too!

I suppose you could do a christening cake soon!

thanks everyone... yeah, i thought it was kinda quick but actually the decision was mine. they took me off the iv and catheter the morning after surgery and the last day they were only giving me pills so i thought i could do that at home and save on our bill a little (hopefully)!!!

I can't believe they wanted you to make a cake that close to your due date! icon_confused.gif Good luck with your little one. My little one is a year old in two weeks and my other is 3. Cherish all the time you have when they are little, because they grow up too fast.

So uh why didnt you make the cake? Sheesh what kind of business woman are you turning down orders icon_surprised.gif

LOL Reminds me I caught a clip of one of those Judge shows once and some woman was suing her neighbour because the neighbour's boy fell off his bike and it hit her car, scratched it lightly. First thing she did when she saw him fall off his bike was call the police to file a report in case the neighbour didnt pay up for the damages icon_rolleyes.gif - Judge lady said something like uhhh first thing you do when you see someone fall off a bike is go make sure they're ok.

Sheesh, I know your mom was trying to be polite, I'm personally insulted just reading that, probably cause she sounds like my mom icon_lol.gif If that were me, I would have firmly but nicely declined without even saying oh wait let me ask her anyway- maybe they didnt know you were due in 2 days- cause anyone with ANY SENSE AT ALL wouldnt have even ASKED your mom to ask you! And if they didnt know and asked your mom if you'd do a cake and she informed them that you were about to pop, then the SENSIBLE person would have said oh ok dont worry about it then, I'll find someone else - don't know how the convo went, but soon as you find out someone is right before due date, YA DROP THE DAMN SUBJECT, SHEESH!

Wow it takes all kinds eh?
