Does anybody know how or where I can get that open-book cake pan?

I don't think it is retired as I purchased mine in may of this year at a cake supply store by my house in Rhode Island.

You can always check on ebay. I've gotten some good deals on pans there, some not so good. Every once in a while, I see it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, but not regularly. You can order it from Wilton.

I have never seen this pan at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, but not all Wilton pans are carried there. If you have a cake store in your area you may find one there. If not try Wilton.com or the other links suggested.

If you want to know if a pan is retired, look in the latest yearbook (2007) and if it is not in the back of the book it is a pan they are no longer making.

Also I learned something new this weekend. When Wilton does the character pans they are only license to make so many of that pan. Once they make them preset amount that is when they go back, redo the license and change the look of the pan.

Amy, I didn't know there were two sizes. I was figuring the "one-cake-mix" size. I can always put it on top of another cake if I want a larger one. I wanted to make a cake on July 22 for my sister-in-law who is a librarian. But I'm sure the pan would be useful in the future.

When I have time later this evening, I'll take a pic and post it! I gotta shower now because I just came back from the gym and have snacks to go buy for my boys preschool class tomorrow!

Sorry, TMI!!! icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif
