Ok - need a good simple to use recipe. The one I had turned out trouble and didn't even cover the sides of the cakes - any ideas? Need to cover the top and the sides - thanks !!!!

Per another ccer's suggestion, I use 14 oz of candy melts and 1/2 cup whipping cream, and melt this over a double boiler, you can add 1/2 tsp of flavoring if you'd like. Then I put my petit fours on a candy dipper and spoon the coating on top and make sure I cover the sides, then put it on a greased cooling rack. I have a picture of some I did in my gallery.

Oh, and before I dip, I spread a thin layer of buttercream on the tops of the petit fours.

I use this - just add water to it until I get the consistency I want. Very easy if you want the take the lazy route.

Powdered sugar and milk with color added (or pure white is beautiful) works really well. Very simple. Just add milk slowly, very litle milk needed. Just test for the thickness you want and add one ingredient or other depending.
