Hi All:

I found a reference to the American Cake Decorating magazine on another thread. Do any of you subscribe to this magazine and if so, what is your opinion?

They offer a combination subscription with the Mailbox News, which sounds like a long-standing cake decorating magazine.

I'd be interested in feedback on both before spending $45.00 for the annual subscription. icon_eek.gif

Thanks,

I have both. I know they have a bad rap lately. They had issues with the people who do the mailing for them. The company that handled this had money issues. They had to scramble to get another company to pick it up. This was the most recent delay. When you subcribe it takes a couple of months to start getting the magazine. They are both bi monthly magazines.

I love them both. This is a company of litterally a handful of poeple. They do there best and sometimes things happen.

I have subscribed to both American Cake Decorating and Mailbox News for years and I love them!!!! I save every issue. All of us have different skill levels and the magazines have something for everyone. They have great cake ideas and techniques. The magazines are filled with great ads for cake tools and stuff you want to know about.

I get both too! My in-laws got me the ACD subscription last year for my birthday, and it's been great. Once I received my first issue, I saw the offer for Mailbox News, and I subscribed to that one as well. I'm very happy with both. There are a lot of great ideas, articles, ads and suggestions for skill levels of all kinds. Mailbox News is comprised of "real people's" cakes, not just the "professional's", so it personally gives me something to try for. I think you'd enjoy them!

I've loved MBN for years. I used to subscribe to ACD, and it is a wonderful magazine, but focuses more on fondant, which I don't do. When it came to the money, I just stuck with MBN. I don't think you'd regret getting either magazine.

I just called the 1-800 on the ACD website and the discount code is 40% off the newsstand price. For the combo subscription for 1 year with the discount it is a total of $43.00. $2.00 less than the internet price.

I just put in my order over the phone. They were very nice! The only problem is I won't see the first issue for months. Oh well, it will be a nice surprise when I do.
