I need ideas for 4 different summer activities kids would do. The theme of the cake is splash into summer. I've decided to do a 10 & 14 square tiers. Pool on the top tier and on the top of the bottom teir a summer activity on each side. 2nd Graders are the audience.

TIA

Judi

My boys love to catch lightning bugs! They also spend tons of time climbing trees, riding their bikes, and playing at the park.

We've only had a few out here so far at night, and school is still in, so they aren't up late enough during the week to catch them yet. They are hoping that there are a ton out this weekend. We love to watch them catch them too. They end up with a bug house full of them.

Thanks everyone....not sure what I'm gonna end up with. Haven't molded any figures before....lol. So, we'll see what I end up with if my figures and such turn out bad it may be a totally different cake than what's in my head.... icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks again.

No lighting bugs (fire flys) in California that I have ever seen icon_sad.gif
We used to catch them all the time in Tennessee...I don't think they've made it out to the west coast!

As for the question on the cake...camping comes to mind, like a summer camp, definitely swimming, and riding bikes.

Here are pics of the cakes ran into some issues and was a bit pressed for time. Overall pleased with how it turned out. The baseball kid lost his arm on the way. And they were bigger than I meant = brain mess up....4" difference in pans = 2" on each side. So my larger figures had to go on the corners.
