I have tried searching the forum, but have had no luck in finding info about cutting a stacked wedding cake. I know there is a right and wrong way to do this and really want to know what it is--please help.

Is the wedding cake round? Do you have a Wilton yearbook? They always tell you how to cut the cake. You could go to their web site. I have cut stacked cake before and since my cakes are doweled and sitting ontop of each other not on pillars, I just go in two inches and make a round circle with my knife then cut pieces I keep going till the cake is gone..then remove the carboard and start on the cake underneath. As far as pillar construction (which I have never done) I would think you would take the cake down before you cut it.?.?.? Ok somebody with experience help this gal out!

Wilton has one on their site, but almost all the "wedding" slices are 2'X2".......

rhondie is right, that's how to do it! Yes, if it's on pillars, take each tier off before cutting. Usually a wedding cake is cut by the caterers. (no matter who makes the cake.)
