So I bought the baby tutorial from Icing on the Cake - which is awesome!!! However, I as u can see - umm I need alot more practice.

This was my first attempt at a baby - and as you can see - icon_redface.gif it looks like a man baby - all tips and advice on how to make the face more baby like are welcome!!! I know the hair is not good but didn't have any icing so just used some fondant.

Thanks for your help!! (I need it!!)

you did a great job ....if you want him to look less manly.....

maybe less hair and make it sort of spikey and a rounder face and rounder eyes and pink cheeks.......maybe stick a dummy in his mouth!!.
You could try shorter arms and hands and make the hands a bit rounder....kind of short and stumpy!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I think he is cute, but I agree that a rounder face and shorter arms will definately help.

Awww... I think he's a very good try! I agree with the others regarding less hair, rounder face and shorter arms. Might want to try placing his eyes closer to the center of his face, rather than so far up.

my advice for the hands, if you never get them right cover them with a blanket. I agree with everyone else as far as the face goes I think your eyes might be to far up too.

The thread title had me laughing out loud!

I was thinking that babies usually have their hands curled up into fists anyway! Just make little balls with finger "notches". Or holding a toy maybe?

I agree the the face would look more babyish if the features were all closer together.

When I did hands, I curled them into fists, that worked really well, then there are no man hands.

I think it might be the hair. It looks too grown up. mess it up with lots of curls or as one suggested spiky. You can maybe make his cheeks fuller.

I love the one you made. It's adorable and funny. I would love to have him right now since my husband is acting like a baby. LOL
