I just got my first Magic Line pans 8x3 round. Found them at the thrift store for a dollar. But now how to use them......do you still fill them 3/4 full? And does it take longer for them to bake? Any suggestion welcome.
Wow, what a great deal! Bet that made your day. ![]()
Wilton recommends filling 3" pans no more than half full. (Based on my experience, I agree.)

(just joking!!!)
I recently replaced all my Wilton pans (about $250) with Magic Line ones. The first "batch" arrived this morning. What a fantastic find!!!!
Note: I did send all my Wilton pans to a fellow CC'r - free of charge. "Pay It Forward"!

that was very nice of you. Wow Now that is support.... soooo is the magic line pans better or is it a personal prefrence?
Well, I guess it might depend on who you ask here......
I personally have used the Wilton pans since last April. Didn't notice any problems except for some darkening of the sides. Somewhere around the beginning of this year, I noticed a lot of threads about Magic Line pans, so of course I bought one to try it out.
Mine was a square 6" - figured not really that much money for an experiment. I was very impressed with the edges, top and sides, with the new little pan. Same thing with the 8" x 3" round I bought. I have a convection oven so the topic about even baking really wasn't the issue for me.
I love my magic line cake pans. You can bang the h#(( out of them to get the air out of the cake and it doesn't faze them a bit. Now Wilton on the other hand would dent and then you have a dent in your cake too. It is worth the money. You bake the normal time in them...and fill like normal too. They are just the Cadillac or Mercedes of cake pans as far as I am concerned.....
