It looks like fun, but how do you serve it?

I'd slice and serve this the same way you do the doll cakes. Slice in half then cut servings from each half. Depending on how tall it is, you may cut more than once.

Isn't it just rice paper "feathers" on the outside? you would probably cut it just like a regular cake.

Just like you would any other tiered wedding cake. It looks like it's a 'cone' shape, but actually it's a tiered cake with rice paper 'feathers' attached. Once it's disassembled, it can be cut just like any other cake.

Maybe a very long, sharp knife! I would have to peel back a layer or two just to get to the cake. I guess you could always stick the feathers back on after you cut it. My, how times are a-changin'!

Wow. How do you make the rice paper feathers? Does any one know? I have never seen feathers before.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I was making it more difficult than it really is.

If you look at the close-up of the picture of Aldo and Nikki's cake on the website, it looks like they are just pieces of rice paper cut into triangles... there are just thousands of them...
