Does anyone know if an 18" Hexagon pan even exists? Trying to make a wedding cake and bride wants 15' hex on bottom, 12" Square on top of that, 9" Hex next, and 6" square on top. Only problem....need larger Hex to make the 12' Square look right....any ideas? Starting cake on Wednesday! Thanks for any help.
After Googling with no promising result, I went back to my old standby Pfeil & Holing (who is offering huge round cake pans up to 24" - wow). They only have the Wilton set up to the 15" you already have.
So I have 2 suggestions you can try.
a) bake a 16 or 18 inch round, and then hack it into a hexagon shape (back to 9th grade geometry!), or
b) rotate the 12" square so you have a point from the 12" centered above a flat-edge of the 15". Do you follow? You can see how it might look if you play with your cake pans first. That might help with the visual proportion problem you're experiencing.
I found a 14" one but they are real expensive but nice pans. They might sell them away from the set as one.

Well, apparently there are no bigger sizes for the Hex pans (or we can't find them anyway), I took a 16" square and made a pattern to cut a Hex design just barely big enough to get the 12" square to set on it straight looking from the front. I thought about the design being changed to where the square is the bottom layer, but this is what the bride is paying for and was so excited about, so I have to make it work...you know how that goes! Thanks for all the responses...hope this works!
