I've been having a hard time keeping the dry dusts from smudging when doing patterns on flowers, etc. Any suggestions on "setting" the dust so this won't happen?
Thanks!!

Someone out there in cake land must know the answer. I can't be the only one this happens to!

You can steam the luster dusts to set them. I use a hand/travelers steamer for that. They get wet after steaming but leave them for a few minutes and they dry to a nice shine (different shine than dry dusting). Try it on a small piece and see the results.

In addition to steaming, you can dip, paint, or spray them with diluted confectioner's glaze or aerosol confectioner's glaze.

Thank you both very much. I was getting pretty frustrated with it!
