Hello, I'm always looking for new ideas or just learning how to do something new. What are some of your favorite books/resources?
My favorite resource would have to be my aunt. If I don't have the stuff I need or am short on ideas, she's a phone call or short drive away. She's the one who got me started and all of her books are great. No favorite one though but I do like the Wilton year book for quick ideas.
With Cake Central, who needs a book! It's so easy to look things up and ask questions! CC is my all-time favorite resource. (But I still refer to my old Wilton yearbooks too.)
Lets see....I really like The Essential Guide To Cake Decorating, I think this book was put out by Borders, lots and lots of info in that book. The Well Decorated Cake by Toba Garrett is a favorite. I just got Sweet Celebrations by Sylvia Weinstock and I am really enjoying it. A lot of people like The Cake Bible. I don't have it myself but it's on my list. If you search the forum you will find LOTS of threads on this subject with many other sugestions.
My favorite book so far is by Mich Turner, "Spectacular Cakes",,,and they are!

I just bought "Pretty Party Cakes" by Peggy Porschen and I really like it. I am really new to this though so you might find it a little basic. I go to the library a lot though to get books but some are just too advanced for me yet. But the galleries here on CC are amazing and have proven to be my biggest source of inspiration!
