I felt like sharing this because I learned something this weekend. After being terrified of what others thought of my work on cakes I learned there is hope! I had made a cake for the volunteer fire department in my home town of 250 and gave it to them for a meeting for their 100th anniversary. Someone suggested making another one for the annual picnic this year which was yesterday so that everyone could see it. People from the county and surrounding counties come to this thing. Anyway I had donated a quilt to be auctioned off and someone suggested selling the cake--OK! It brought in $225 for the fire department which was close to what the quilt made. Sorry this is long, but it was a fun experience!! I have 2 new orders and hope to have more!
Awright--congrats to you!
Now we look forward to seeing some cakes from you. Keep on cakerating.
Thats fantastic..good for you! I do wish you'd post some photos.
Keep up the good work
Cindy
That's great. It's surprising what a cake can bring in a charity auction. And really helps out the old self esteem, too!
I wish I had pictures--hubby had the camera and the cake was given back to the department to serve with the meal It was cut up and only about a dozen pieces left when I got to it. My son said "Mom just make another one." Anyway I enjoyed it and learned to be less critical off myself. Thanks for reading and for being there!!!
