100Th Birthday + Farmer

looking for an idea for a 100th birthday. the mans been a farmer his whole life.
tractors, horses, barns come to mind... but i am still looking for something else. its to feed only 50 people. and i want a wow factor.. ya know???

any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

What kind of cake are you making carved, sheet or whimsy? A windmill would be really neat if you could do it.

In my photos there is a picture of a barn cake I did recently. That might work.....my dad is a farmer and he thought it was great. icon_smile.gif

In my photos, I have a haystack that came out really cute. Maybe that on top of a sheet cake?

I have been looking for a reason to make this cake...it might work for you if you make it minus the kids on the bottom layer and maybe put some farm animals....I think this cake is amazing. Good luck and please post a pic of your cake when it's finished!

I keep thinking of a tree. For a man celebrating 100 years and being a farmer, something like an apple tree or something that pictures being rooted in the earth and the fruits of his labor...
