Well, I have just finished a very labor intensive buttercream wedding cake. I don't think I have ever worked on 1 cake four hours straight but I loved it. Used some silicone molds that I had forgotten that I bought.
The top two tiers were my favorite. Wasn't wild about the bottom tier, but it all worked together. Now to go clean up my kitchen.
Oh my goodness! I just looked and it is soooo beautiful and elegant. How many does that serve, and if you don't mind me asking, what did you charge for all of that work?
Gorgeous!!! ![]()
Served about 150 guests--14" french vanilla, 12" red velvet, 9" french vanilla, and 6" red velvet (saving).
$1.75 per serving--total with delivery $287.50
Not nearly enough for all that detail. Next time any thing with that much detail will be $2.00 per serving. Plus an increase in delivery charge. 40 miles one way and had to make 2 trips--groom's cake was delivered for the rehearsal dinner.
Beautiful cake. You did a wonderful job. 4 hours seems normal for me-lol. I am a slow cake designer so don't feel bad.
I also loved this cake...the detail did take me a long time too. My bride had a smaller wedding and picked the 3 tiers she liked the best. I know this cake looks so much better in person...sometimes our photos hide all of the beautiful detail work.
You really did a great job!
Four hours??? I would still be trying to figure out where to start.
Great looking cake. good luck in the contest. It is the winner in my book.
