Being so new to this i had an idea to use something to decorate cakes to take pics so i could put some up on a website im making....

I can see you can buy the polysterine (sp) shapes but can not find them here in NZ...

I was wondering, has anyone used something like playdough as a template? made some and like baked it in the oven to make it hard? Do you think this would work?

TIA

dont know about the play doh .... you could use and air drying clay. but it would take a lot!!....maybe you could use an upside down cake tins.

If you can't get any in NZ maybe you could order the cake dummies from
www.bakerysugarcraft.com.au... their prices are pretty good and they have a huge range and ship internationally.

sorry I can't be much help!!! icon_sad.gif

I'm not sure about the playdough, but how about decorating your upturned cake tins? If it's only for photos, you can just take it off again!

I've also heard of people pressing Rice Krispie treats into their cake pans to get the shape and then turning them out and decorating.
