You know those wires that stick out of the tops of cakes that have fondant balls or stars and such on them? Is it just plain craft wire or something special?

Thanks!

I recently did a cake with the wire and balls of fondant! I used a colored craft wire that I had picked up at Hobby Lobby. I believe it was in the bead section (It's been awhile since I bought it). Anyway, it's 20gauge wire. I used a cocktail straw in the cake to put the wires in so they didn't actually touch the cake in case they weren't food safe. Hope that helps!
