possibly you added too much liquid with the dust? really you need just a few drops, I found it much easier in a class to use an eye dropper to add it, only just until it dissolves. then paint on with a nicer brush - the cheap ones leave streaks.

I use artist brushes, you won't get the same effect with the cheap brushes. The soft bristles really do make a difference. I didn't like the way it turned out with lemon extract, I always got streaks and it got clumps. Plus it would leave the lemon flavor and it wouldn't always complement the flavor of the cake. Vodka works much better for me. When mixing the vodka and dust I get it to the consistency of nail polish, it has always worked great for me.

I don't drink so I'm not familiar with how alcohol works, but will Vodka leave any alcohol taste (or effects) when used with dust?

The vodka evaporates quite quickly....leaves no taste either. It's the only thing I use with dusts.

I dip an artist brush in vodka, then in the dust, and smooth it over my figure. That gets it on nice and thick.

Here are the unfinished froggies that I made last night...

That's probably a good thing as bad as I was looking at 3:00 a.m. this morning. icon_lol.gif
