Ok, so I have to make a cake and the girl doesn't want filling. How do I stack two layers together??
I was thinking of just making a simple syrup and putting that between the layers so they somewhat stick together. Anybody have this before?
I don't have 3 inch pans to make a taller cake, only 2 inch, so I'd have to make two, 2 inch layers and stack them - am I making any sense? ![]()
I've done this before. I haven't put anything between the layers and they "stuck" together just fine. If you're worried about them sliding apart of something, you could always stick in a few straws. hope that helps!
I would still put icing in the middle, just not a filling other than that.
I'm thinking I may just really thin out the buttercream and use that to have it "stick".
Thanks for the opinions!
If someone said they didn't want a filling, I would assume they meant they just wanted icing between the layers instead of a "special" filling.
My older son is just this way. No filling, just frosting between the layers...... ![]()
